Well simply because we sell movies in which the state of
Minnesota and the Federal government have laws against selling to anyone under
eighteen, we also sell items which depending on how the laws could be
interpreted could also be against the law to sell to folks under 18 years of
age. Much like cigarettes and booze the clerks and the store take the brunt of
the fines and punishment, they do not go after the under aged person who try to
defraud us. If I had the means I would
have a system like many stores have that an ID must be scanned to make any
purchase of booze or cigarettes but in reality it is too expensive so I will
have the clerks card anyone who looks under 40 years of age when they enter the
store and if a movie is bought or rented you must have an ID no matter what
your age.
I will also ask for
an ID when a credit card is used, there are heavy fines for fraud here too that
go the store if a card is used by someone other than the person on the card,
Target and other large stores may be able to absorb a certain amount of fraud
but we can’t and this way both of us are protected.
Why do we have taped boxes and packaging?
We do this so that you are assured the product has not been
used and it helps deter theft. Many packages are also so flimsy they need the
extra support so has not to tear or have the items fall out of the packaging.
What are Naked Toys?
These are items that arrive with damaged packaging or get
messed up in the store or have one part missing but the item is still in
PERFECT condition so we take it out of the original packaging and bag it up and
mark it down.
Thank you for understanding.
