This weekend our buyers are headed to Florida to meet with
company reps and see all the new stuff, well wasn’t the last blog about new
stuff? There is always new stuff it gets
quite intimidating at times and I am glad I personally do not have to make the
decisions anymore about what to carry in the stores. I do look thru the catalogs when they come in
because if I recognize something it has been around for a long time. I usually see a few things that look
interesting and slap a post it note flag on the items and hand it back over to
the buyer. It is not an easy Job, even
if they had an unlimited budget there is still only so much space in the stores
so this is why we are working on a second partner website and will be placing
tablets in the stores. We then will have the ability to get almost
anything out there in sex toy and sexual health land.
We have extended our store hours till 8pm on Sundays and
11pm Monday thru Saturday, I have posted this a few other places but wanted to
make sure everyone knows.
Looking forward to warmer weather here in Minnesota this
winter has been quite difficult, several times we have had to pull the vans
into the warehouse in order to thaw out the wipers and all the lube comes into
the office frozen almost solid, we have to unpack it and let it thaw before we
can price the bottles. Although it has
created bargains for you as some packaging was cracked but the items were
perfect so we made them Naked Toys.
What are Naked Toys??? Well when we have good items but the
packaging is damaged or shop worn we will inspect the item to make sure it is
in perfect condition and then bag it up add a header card and mark it down.
There were two lines that caught our buyers interest at the
show and we will bringing them to our stores this spring, they had great deals
on most of the great items and lines we already carry and tens of thousands of
dollars later it is guaranteed that April and May are going to be very busy in
the warehouse as we get the merchandise out to the stores.
Fantasy Gifts will have a booth at this year’s Pride Festival,
the forms have been filled out and the confirmation emailed, it one of the most
fun weekends of the year, we are working on getting lots of free swag from our
vendors and will have silicone bracelets again. Hope to see you there.
